About Me
Linda Spear is an author and a journalist with over 30 years of communications experience. She is a veteran journalist for The New York Times, where she reported primarily on evolving health and human interest issues that affect our culture.
Linda served as Director of Corporate Communications for Ciba-Geigy Corporation (now known as Novartis), where she was responsible for communication tools for the USA’s corporate headquarters, as well as the company’s national and international audience.
Prior to her stint at Ciba, she served as media spokesperson for Phelps Memorial Hospital Center, Tarrytown, NY, in routine and crisis situations. At the same time, she produced and hosted a weekly talk show, entitled, “Let’s Talk Health” for Westchester-based radio station, WFAS/AM, White Plains, NY.
Prior to her debut as a novelist with “I Know You by Heart,” she wrote eight books with doctors with specialties who want to inform consumers about developing facts in their specific field of medicine.
She is also the co-author of “Kids and Sports,” written with Eric Small, M.D.
Linda is the wife of Jay Spear, the retired producer of a whimsical catalog of dog products called “Quincy’s Choice,” and the mother of two daughters. Jenn and Laura. Her daughters are grown, but she and Jay reside in Dobbs Ferry, New York, a scenic and magical village on the Hudson River.
